The History of Project 600

When we were first in negotiations for this building, we received our first major donation from one of our national leaders at a YWAM Romania national conference. She believed it was a seed promise, to ask many others for this amount of 500 Euros and that God would use it to grow into the building fund. We approached various churches and businesses but the doors kept closing.

Then, while Jerry, one of our base leaders, was driving in the States in the summer of 2009, he had a vision where God showed him a picture of many people being invited to join the vision with a small amount of finances. This would then continue to multiply as people come on board and invited others.

As negotiations went forward, a payment date was established for the middle of September where we would give the initial down payment. This date came and went and we were without sufficient funds. We then gathered as a staff team and prayed to ask God how he wanted us to move forward.  Jerry felt to ask many people for a small amount once again. So, as a team we prayed into this. We received the verse Proverbs 20:18, “Make plans by seeking advice, if you wage war obtain guidance.” We felt like God was speaking to invite as many people as possible to partner with us in this vision.

Project 600 was then born. We realized that we would need 600 partners at 500 Euros each according to the first seed promise that we received, whether it is churches, businesses, YWAM bases, or individuals. As we come to today, we feel like this vision has changed slightly. It is no longer just about YWAM Targu Mures, but about the international missions community through YWAM and other teams coming through to minister in our city.

We now have multiple partners in various countries throughout the world. Now we are re-launching this project with our goal of reaching 600 partners. God has been faithful in the past, and we are excited to see how He will supply once again.

One Response to History

  1. Yesterday I had a meeting with Bill Donner from YWAM in Southern California and he told me about your project and ministry. I am blessed to see great ministry done in my homeland.
    Blessings,
